FAQ Family Photography

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions for my Family photography packages.

My child is not feeling well and I would like to reschedule my session date/time that’s already been confirmed.

That is absolutely fine. It is very important to me that every family member is well and happy so you get the most fun out of your session, If you need to reschedule due to health concerns, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m usually able to reschedule your session, subject to dates availability.

Our session is scheduled for outside but the weather isn’t cooperating. What do we do?

I usually touch base with you a few days prior to your session and check weather forecast rigorously. Should the weather not be suitable for an outdoor session, we will reschedule for the next available date. Should you prefer to move your session inside, we can do that as well. If the weather changes during your session we can move it outside again. I’m flexible.

Our session is in our home. How should we prepare?

Don’t stress! I prefer documenting your REAL life as it is. Perhaps a few things may need to be hidden but that’s something we can also do as soon as I arrive for your session. We will shoot in the rooms with the most natural light so concentrate on those parts of your house.

What should we wear for our family or couples session?

The most important thing is to wear something COMFORTABLE. If you aren’t comfortable in your outfit, that will certainly show. Depending on your style of photo session you have different options but in general, neutral, casual and simple works well. Rich, bold colours will add a nice pop to your photos. Layers and textures are always a plus. I’d recommend colour coordinating your outfits but in a small doses so you don’t look to much the same. Avoid large logos and distracting large prints. If you wear a new outfit, try to iron out the creases, they won’t look nice in your images. Most importantly, stay true to yourself: don’t force yourself into an outfit. If you never ever wear heels, don’t pressure yourself to wear a pair to your session. I want to document YOU! If you are still not sure what to wear email me your outfit choices and we will figure it out together.

What about the actual session? What happens then?

Everything is very relaxed. The first 15-20 minutes are usually spent chatting (and taking a tour of your house, if we shoot indoors). I will ask your child(ren) to show me their room and tell me a bit more about their favourite things. If it is a newborn session, it will revolve around your baby and their needs, leaving the time for feeding and changing breaks. If there are siblings of toddler age, I follow their lead, watching out for baby’s needs and cues. It’s a delicate balance, but it works. The most important thing is for you to enjoy the experience. Don’t worry about the little hiccups.

I am really not good at posing and I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera.

I totally understand that. Before we start we are going to have a little chat and a little laugh and you will forget about the camera. Your job is simply to enjoy your loved ones’ company, have fun and follow the gentle guidance I will provide. Leave the rest to me. I promise, you are going to love the outcome!

How long will it be before I can view my photos?

Your digital gallery is delivered to you for viewing within 2 weeks of the session. Shortly thereafter, your download link or custom USB is sent out. Any products included with your package may take a little longer, subject to product delivery times.

Do you offer payment plans?

I do offer custom payment plans where the total fee for your session is divided into several instalments. Once the first instalment is paid we can shoot your session; and, your gallery will be released after all payments are received in full.
